About the Author

Author Paul E. Miller is Executive Director of seeJesus, a global discipleship ministry which he founded in 1999 to help Christians and non-Christians alike “see Jesus.” Since that time, Paul has taught more than 100 seminars, written a dozen interactive Bible studies, and released three books focused on seeJesus’ core themes: the person of Jesus, love, and prayer. Paul loves to tell stories—most of which start with his own failures and mishaps and end with God’s faithfulness. Paul is married to Jill, who is known for her sense of humor and faith. They have six children and twelve grandchildren and live in the Philadelphia area.

Paul spent his childhood in California and Oregon, moving east when his father, Dr. Jack Miller, began teaching at Westminster Theological Seminary. After graduating from college, Paul taught in inner-city Christian schools in Philadelphia for ten years. With a group of parents, he started Spruce Hill Christian School, an inner city, multi-racial school where he was principal and teacher.

In 1983, Paul helped his father found World Harvest Mission (now Serge), serving as Associate Director until 1996 and writing his first two discipleship courses—”Sonship” and “The Love Course.” From 1997-1999, he completed a M.Div. at Biblical Seminary and founded seeJesus. Paul continued writing, developing seminars and interactive Bible studies used around the world and translated into many different languages.

In 2001, NavPress released Paul’s first Bible-study based book, “Love Walked Among Us,” weaving stories of how Jesus loves together with stories of Paul’s own struggles to love. Paul’s 2005 release of “A Praying Life” (NavPress)—a book for “badly-praying Christians”—achieved instant bestseller status and was followed by “A Loving Life” (Crossway, 2009), a study of love through the book of Ruth.
