At the end of last year, we provided you with a year-end update to highlight some of the ways God had been working through Am I Called in 2015. If you haven’t read it, you can click this link. In a similar sense, we wanted to take a moment to update you about some exciting news that has been coming to us recently. Over the past year, the process of translating articles from Am I Called began to take place, and at the time of the last update, we were working with The Gospel Coalition to get several articles translated into Spanish. Since then, God has been faithful in providing Am I Called with multiple partnerships and opportunities to translate materials and distribute them around the world, and we are grateful God is providing a way to help equip men for pastoral ministry regardless of the language and geographic barriers between us.
Here are some updates from this year:
- As of this month, the team at The Gospel Coalition are beginning to regularly translate articles from Am I Called into Spanish, Portuguese, and French. You can read a few of the Spanish articles here.
- Dave’s book Am I Called is being translated into two different languages. The Gospel Coalition raised money to have the book translated into Spanish, and the translation process is currently underway (view the campaign page here).
- In partnership with another publishing company, the Romanian translation of Am I Called was recently completed. In an email to us, the translators informed us that “apart from Spurgeon’s Lectures to My Students, [Am I Called] is the single other title on this subject made available to the Romanian readers.” He also told us that after its first 24 hours, the book had already been downloaded 2,600 times and had gained interest among seminary students and pastors.
- In partnership with Ministério Fiel, articles from the Am I Called site are regularly being translated into Portugese. You can view these articles here.
God continues to provide ways for Am I Called to aid in training men for ministry through these translation opportunities. We thank you for being a supporter of Am I Called, and we ask you to pray that these translations would be fruitful and that God’s Word would go forth around the world for the advancement of the gospel and God’s glory.
